About NEET and the Exam Pattern for the year 2019
The NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an entrance examination in India, for the students who would like to study graduate medical courses (MBBS) and dental courses (BDS) in private or government medical colleges & dental colleges in India. Central Board of Secondary Educations currently conducts the NEET-UG for MBBS & BDS courses. Also, CBSE conducts NEET-SS in partnership with Prometric Testing Private Limited (Headquarter – The USA).
NEET-UG substituted the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), and all the individual MBBS examinations were conducted by colleges or states themselves in the year 2013. However many institutes & colleges had obtained a stay order and ran private assessments for admission to their BDS and MBBS courses. On May 6th, 2018 the NEET entrance exams (2018) were held, and outcomes were announced on 4 June.
NEET is a single entrance exam for admissions to over 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats all over India. During the year 2018, NEET examination, approximately 80 percent of those candidates wrote the examination in English, 11 percent in Hindi, 4.31percent in Gujarati, 3 percent in Bengali and 1.86 percent in Tamil. By 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will run NEET, rather than CBSE. Undergraduate classes at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) are beyond the NEET’s purview, as these institutes were put up by different laws.
The students are advised that before filling the application form, they need to check for the eligibility criteria. Criteria may differ in accordance with the State or All India basis. The interested candidates can go for the registration process once the applications forms are available from the first week of December.
Eligibility Criteria –
1. Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, and English are the mandatory subjects the candidate should clear in 10+2.
2. The candidate should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50 percent (general) and 40 percent (ST/ / SC/OBC) and for PH overall minimum of 45 percent and ST/SC/OBC handicapped is 40 percent.
3. Marks that are obtained in Math’s won’t be considered for admission to BDS/MBBS courses.

1. All India Quota Seats
2. State Government Quota Seats
3. Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities
4. NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/ State/ Management/ Dental Colleges or any Private University
5. Central Pool Quota Seats
NEET Exam Pattern 2019
Aspirants who wanted to pursue AYUSH, Dental, and Medical courses must check the NEET 2019 exam pattern, before taking up the entrance exam. The pattern of NEET 2019 will ease the applicants little with the mode, medium and the question paper of this national level examination. It’s highly advisable to be familiar with all the NEET examination pattern 2019 because it’s the nation’s most significant medical admission examination for which approximately 13 lakh candidates appear. For the very first time, NEET 2019 will be held in online mode which implies the queries will be shown on the computer and applicants will have to submit answers from the computer system given to them in the allotted center. The entry examination of NEET is just three hours exam, comprising 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Dates of examination would be between February 2 – February 17, 2019, and May 12 – May 26, 2019. It’s dependent upon the candidates if they would like to appear in either of the shifts or only one shift. Only the better score in any of the shift will be considered. Now that the NTA has taken over from CBSE as the regulatory body of NEET 2019, and made clear that the changes brought in the mode of the exam will not affect the NEET 2019 exam pattern.
